In honor of their tenth birthday, Google brought back their search engine the way it was many years ago, in January 2001 . Below an old-school Google logo. the input box invites you to search through “1,326,920,000 web pages”. A search for Barack Obama returns around 773 results, for instance, with the top link leading to the old address as it was, and a special link pointing to the Wayback Machine’s archived version of it (today, over 60 million results are returned). A search for Gmail returns “gmail.linuxpower.org”, a Linux “email client for the Gnome desktop”. A search for BitTorrent returns 0 results.
Google 2001 is a highly interesting trip to the past. You can get a feeling for what the web was like back then, what topics were as of yet unknown or little talked about, and – provided the ranking order is the exact same as it was in 2001.

Today is the 10th birthday of the world’s most popular search engine- Google!
The little search engine that could now runs an office suite, a video site, email, networking site, an online book library, and one of the most profitable ad businesses in the World. Google just released a beta version of a new browser, and launched its own satellite for earth mapping. The Google projects list is never ending. Google changes our online life, I heard that now Google is working on “Google OS” It will be completed Before 2010. I am very curious abut this OS because we all know Google is always best.
Google is a great example of a small idea growing to something ridiculously successful. And Google knows the values of a small idea for that Google launch new contest they ask people to submit ideas in seven categories to the project’s website, www.project10tothe100.com . This website says that Google is looking for simple ideas and they are ready to give upto $10 million to implement these projects, and in first two day they will get a huge response.
It will be great to see what they have in the next ten years, but for now I wish them a Happy Birthday!
